Assign a category to an objective
Updated May 20261 min read

Categories group objectives by life area — Career, Health, Personal Growth, Relationships, and Leisure by default — and drive how the home screen and insights views are filtered. Each objective can carry one category at a time.
From the objective editor
- Open the objective for editing. Tap an objective card on the home
screen, then choose Edit.
Objective context menu with Edit highlighted - Tap the category select field inside the editor. A picker opens with
every category you've defined.
Category select field on the editor - Pick a category and tap the check mark to save the objective.
The home screen now shows a small coloured strip on the objective card
matching the category.
Picker open with categories listed
From settings
To create or rename categories before assigning them:
- Open Settings → Categories. The list shows every category, with the count of objectives that use it.
- Tap + to add a new one, or tap a row to rename or recolour it.
Then go back to step 1 of the objective editor flow above and pick the new category.
Tips
- Renaming or deleting a category that's already in use updates every objective that referenced it.
- Picking No category is a valid choice — it leaves the coloured strip off the card.
